Hey! So this is a blog. I can write, reflect, expresses!
This is Journal #1. Just #1.
I'm not going to write anything really in #1, just testing it out, but tomorrow is CIF FINALS!
ok nevermind. I'm going to write.
It is really amazing. I love my team. I know it seem awkward for me to say this, but they've become my second family; my brothers and we've come to love each other unconditionally.
Everyone has an unique personality, but we always seem to get along with each other and go out of our way to help each other out. I can truthfully say that this Senior year, every team member from frosh, JV, and Varsity, respect and care for each other.
Just an excerpt from my UC personal statement draft #14385... haha
"After finishing middle school, I chose water polo for the rigorous schedule and became part of this wonderful team. My coach shard an analogy. He said, "The team is like a car. I can only guide the car, but each player is like an auto part that has a role to fill, and if a single part is missing, the car will not function or run at its full potential." Our team is eating together during lunch, studying together at night, socializing during weekends. We share the same some muscles after a tough practice. We share the same sadness after a loss, but also share the same wondrous joy after a win. I play my heart out for my teammates, not for the crowd. When I'm not in the pool, I am cheering and encouraging my teammates with the same entusiasm. Each player is a link of a chain that has to be strong to stay together. I can count on my teammates to keep me strong and teammates count on me. They are my second family. I've learned that depending on others is not a weakness and being a team player is a quality I will need to carry into college and life."
It seems like a dream. My THIRD CIF championship game. THIRD out of four and this is after moving up two divisons! It's amazing that I chose to become part of this tradition of excellence and I hope and pray that this tradition continues after this season ends and I graduate. So as I end this Journal #1, I am thinking about my teammates, PJ, Chat, Pete, Jason, Alwin, Justin, Dennis, Derek, Sam, David, Neil, James, Stanley, Akio, Nathan, Oscar, Albert, John, Jin, Justin.
Whatever happens tomorrow, whether we win or lose, I know we are champions. I know that we will have given it our best and played the best game we can play because we love and are passionate about this sport called water polo.
Peace
