I am in Chicago and day 2 out of 8 is over. I am going to reflect on everything that happened today. It was pretty awesome.
Breakfast: Jumba Juice and McDizziles.
Walking and taking the train to Sears tower.
Chill at Sears tower.
Walk to art museum.
Sleep at art museum. haha x)
$7 pizza at the cafe in art museum.
Millenium Park!
Football!
Snowball fight!
Stare at the random giant bean in the park.
Ice skating!
$20 full slab of ribs for dinner!
Swimming and weight lifting.
Finally, chill with roommates.
The highlight of this trip so far has been football in Millenium Park! Hellz yea
We played 4 on 4 football in the snow. It was quite exciting.
ROOM 1828. REPRESENT! James, Shiv, and Kyle are bomb teammates. Nick, Jon, Jerry, and Ritesh got their booty kicked 18-0. James had an interception and touch down reception. Shiv had an interception too! What a gangster! Kyle was a monster too. 2 touch down receptions. and you know I did my job as QB... haha football was awesome. I can't wait to get back to Cerritos and play more with the crew.
It's been cold. Today wasn't as cold as yesterday though. Still 25 degrees. If your mittens/gloves aren't on for more that 30 seconds... they start to get numb. No joke. Same goes with your ears without a beanie. It hasn't snowed yet though. I wish it would.
Things aren't going good at home with the team. Man! What's the deal!

Journal #3 and gum
Before I start writing I must say...
CHICAGO IS TOMORROW!
You can describe my tone as excited. Haha just a little AP Literature and SAT II Literature carrying over into the weekend.
Today I took the SAT IIs Math 2C and Literature. I did fine. Answering multiple choice questions whoo hoo! What more can I say about it? I was awake the whole time, so I'm proud of myself for that.
I need something new to this blog. I need to write about something. I'm tired of this. Why am I writing about my day to day event? Can I say boring?! Ok today is a new blog. New Jankaew's world!
Topic 1: Gum a.k.a. (grammar, usage, and mechanics)
I already know what you're wondering. What about gum chewing? Why is it even a topic for a blog?
The answer is I hate it when people chew up just for the sake of chewing. You know it's okay to chew gum when your breath stinks because you didn't brush your teeth (which you should do every morning and night) or you need something to chew on to stay awake during study time, but when your just walking around... why? Does it strengthen your jaw? Does it make you a better kisser? Does it make you look "cool"? Does it relieve stress? I don't really think so. Stop gum chewing!
High school are the biggest culprits for chewing gum when they shouldn't be. During class and when they're talking to people it's freaking annoying, man! I saw this guy jaw move up and down as he played his piece at his piano recital. Disgusting and disaster. What's even worse is when you talk to people the other person can see the gum is moving around your mouth as you talk or you can't open your mouth wide enough without spitting out the gum and hence no one can understand what you are saying!
I guess in the past it got so bad that it got banned in elementary, middle, and high school. I believe the main reason it was banned was to teach kids manners, but that's not the school administration's job. It's your parents.
You know what else I hate about gum? People put it under desks, or just spit it out onto the floor where someone else can become part of a fateful encounter. You know how it is. You've stepped on gum before. You ask yourself, "Why me!? WTF! Why me?!" The problem isn't that there aren't enough trashcans. The problem is people don't have the common courtesy to wrap their gum in the wrapper it came from and throw it into the trashcan.
I know there's a lot out there who love gum chewing. "The flavor is delicious!" But the thing is the flavor doesn't last that long. I'm not sure how many chews it takes until the flavor is gone and I'm not going to get gum to chew because then I'll be a hypocrite? But 100 chews max! I could compare them to the tobacco company. They use the same methods to gain profit, if you think about it. Ephemeral products that may become addicting, but gum is a step down from cigarettes I understand, but smokers chew gum! OMG connection? I think so! If there is a study done on gum I bet some scientist can prove that... GUM CAUSES CANCER! haha maybe not. I'm going off the edge, what properties of gum causes it to not dissolve in your mouth after chewing it for long periods of time and why does that black stain occur on black tops after its been left there for a while?
GUM. I dissaprove useless gum chewing. Stop it. Don't chew gum when you talk to others or present yourself at a job interview or a piano recital. If you do chew gum please don't stick it somewhere you wouldn't want to find it yourself. It's a pet peeve and I am writing about it.

Journal #2
Garden of I don't care?I really hope not... With the ending of water polo season I hope this will give me the chance to begin focusing on my studies. Senior year is filled with exciting subjects that aren't just waste of time.I've really put my academics to the side while in water polo season. Not really proud of it. I found myself struggling in all of my classes: calculus and physics especially. I see myself trying to take the easy way out of everything and in the end learn nothing from the material. I'm tired too. Even without water polo. The other day my friend said, "Jeffrey, you've really mellowed down since freshmen year." hum...
New found optimism. Despite all of the events that have occured these past few weeks (submitting UC apps, new school policies, ending of water polo) I feel my life is changing for the better. I no longer have anything to contribute to, kinda. It feels a little lonely. I realize I need that. Involvement. Involvement with others to make a whole or just plainly; to help others.
Ms. Silber called me up to the office today. She wants me to tutor for Biology Honors. She kind of demanded that I do it too. I walked into her office today during 4th period and she was like, "Here's his name and phone number. Contact him by today or tomorrow." and I responded with the same smile and "okay, will do." I tutored a guy last year in biology last year too, but I think I need a new approach to teacher. I kind of just sat with him, made him an outline of his material, and answered questions. I don't know if it helped. And I'm going to have to prove to this new guy that I'm smart enough to tutor him. Arg. Does anyone else have this problem? I look like a freshmen.
SAT IIs is also this Saturday. I'm taking Math IIC and Literature. Math. You know. It's math. It's never been my strongest subject because of my tendencies to make careless errors, but I haven't studied for this either because of plain laziness. Why? I don't know what to expect from literature. Mr. Varieur's class I hope is helping me with literature. He's a good teacher, but I still find reading comprehension difficult. Authors ramble a lot. I swear they try to confuse the reader.
I'm looking forward to finishing SATs forever and then going to Chicago. New motivation. New effort.
